How to Provide Value on Social Media | Home Based Business
When you are looking to provide value on social media, it is all about knowing your target audience and what they’re interested in. This way, you can best serve them, impact their lives and their provide to their needs.
Once you’ve established how you can help, it’s time to deliver.
And, one of the questions I get asked about A LOT is how people can provide value on social media without sounding like a used car salesperson. See, too often we get caught up in the next sale or the next recruit and lose sight of the overall mission — share to impact.
Valuable content WINS every, single, time.
What type of Content should I be posting?
Try to tap into more generic content. This means, avoid content that includes anything with a company name and/or product names. Get creative, review the best practices for creating curiosity posts, etc. Another thing to consider with the content you’re posting is to include evergreen content that you can use over and over again and, will remain relevant for months or even years to come.
Additionally, you want to focus your content on 3 main areas that I call my 3 E Formula …
How to Provide Value on Social Media
- Educational — Teach your audience something! Don’t wait to be an expert you just need to be willing to share. Some ideas: how-to videos, tutorials, your top tips, fun facts, etc.
- Empowering — Ask yourself how you can empower your audience — be it a post, reel or video. This might be inspirational content, motivational word or, something that will reach people on an emotional level.
- Entertaining — A mentor once told me … People want to laugh on social media rather than learn. When your lighter content is paired with your educational content (aka EnterTraining) however, this is a dynamic duo and one that WILL help you grow your business.
So, next time you create a post ask yourself, ‘does this fall into any of the 3 categories?’ and, go from there.
Please leave me a comment below and let me know which of the 3 E’s are you most comfortable with and which one is your least favorite. Would examples of each pieces of content be helpful? Here to serve!
