For the past few years, I have been working with clients on perfecting this 3-part strategy to help them increase their engagement. Let’s be honest when others; like, love, comment, and share on your posts it’s almost rewarding or affirming that you’re on the right track, right?

3-Part Strategy to Increase your Engagement
Whether you are on social media or not, it’s an absolute truth that your customers are there. And, they are paying attention to their social media accounts for hours everyday. Establishing a social media presence, building a loyal following and engaging with them can feel like a big effort.
However, the benefits of learning ways to increase your engagement is critical.
Here is my 3-part strategy to help you increase that social media engagement because, it will have a positive impact on your business! This formula in my opinion, should be used with every single piece of content you produce. Get into the habit of asking yourself if it does at least one of the following three things.
Does your social media content;
- Educate or,
- Empower or,
… your audience?
If the answer is no this could without a doubt be affecting your engagement or lack thereof.
Educate your Audience
Teach your followers a new skill, a DIY, an activity, a how-to do XYZ. Of course I should remind you to keep this loosely relevant if not directly related to your business but go on and think outside the box here. Teaching someone something new is powerful and, establishes that underlying trust that we KNOW is crucial the purchasing process.
You can educate them through a variety of mediums;
- Live or pre-recorded video
- Short series of videos/stories
- More in depth written post
… and more! They are looking to you as the expert, get out in front of them more often and it is a sure way to increase your engagement.
Empower your Audience
There are a couple of ways you can do this. The first, is to provide simple tips and tricks that help your audience. Similar, to educating them.
The second way you can empower your audience is to highlight them on your page – celebrate them; get them to submit pictures, videos and testimonies for you. Making them the centre of your content will empower them and help build further credibility. Leave people feeling GREAT after visiting your content. And, this can help create a great ripple effect for the onlookers who would also love to be highlighted by you!
Entertain your Audience
We socialize on social media, right? We use it in most cases to get away from our long busy day, and to forget about the daily tasks even for a moment. Create content that helps your audience do that.
A simple picture or video can take a dry and boring status update and level it up. Inserting a bit of humor into your content can draw people in. There is a place and time for seriousness, but make sure you don’t forget about the fun — especially, on social media. Laughing and smiling creates those feel good vibes — this is especially beneficial for showcasing a more personable side of yourself and your business.
